John Jones Tribute Day

Date: Saturday, May 15th, 2010

Time: Games to start at 12pm

Where: Ste Julie-Irish Grounds

On May 15th, the SLOB's ( St Lambert Old Boys ), St Lambert Locks along with the Montreal Irish rugby club will be doing an event for our friend and club founder Dr. John Jones. The event will be all three season opener games for the club and an old boys game that will consist of Johns first two clubs, the Irish and the Locks. Together, they will face off vs the Ottawa Senators old Boys.

The event is still being put together as we speak but more details will follow soon. Here is what we know so far:

The game will be played out in front of a great crowd of old and young faces! There will be many club teams in attendance. There will be a touring side from the Bahamas that will play vs the Irish 1st XV! Following that game we will have a pig roast.  There will be music, some beers and lots of stories and songs that John loves to sing!

Thats where you come in! We need you! Old or new! If you know John and have worn the "true blue" in the past you need to attend this great event! This is a celebration of all that John has done for rugby in Quebec! So show your spirit and come out and enjoy a great day with some old friends.

If you can't make the games please do come out for the post party. We will have a special T-shirt made up for the day as well for sale at the games.

I am hoping to see many of you at the games. I know John is looking forward to it as well.

Give them curry lads and One for the road!!!
